Study on Electrical and Thermal Performance Assessment of an Air-Type PVT Collector with Perforated Baffle

BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) is a building envelope technology that converts solar energy into electrical energy, but heat dissipated at the back of module during production energy. However, PVT collectors are devices produce electricity on front PV and concurrently use generated from module. Therefore, in buildings require heating loads, system can both thermal energies directly; hence, its utilization rate higher than systems. In this study, new collector using air as medium was newly designed fabricated, performances were analyzed through outdoor experiments. A baffle applied to layer earlier improve performance CFD simulation analysis. This study characteristics according inlet flow rate, radiation intensity, temperature type air-type collector. Consequently, when increased 100 ~ 200 m3/h, it confirmed efficiency 22.7 50% 15.75 16.54%.
